Richard Branson’s Island

Sir Richard Branson was born in Surrey in the UK and has since become one of the richest men alive. He is Chairman of the Virgin Group and has earned a huge amount of money with his business ventures. This money has been spent in many ways and he has been known to found charity organisations in South Africa. However, he hasn’t held back in extreme purchases. He went on holiday to the Caribbean 25 years or so a go and fell in love with a small island which he subsequently bought for himself.
The islands visitors include, George Michael, Michael Douglas, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg and Prince Charles. This is no place for the average earner, it is rented out as a whole to each family that visits except when they have “celebration weeks” where the island is rented to more than one family at a time. You can imagine that it is probably not in the average person’s price range.
Branson has been involved in several world record attempts, the most famous probably being when he tried to cross the Atlantic Ocean in the quickest time possible. In 1991, Branson also crossed the Pacific Ocean from Japan to Arctic Canada breaking all previous records, reaching speeds of up to 245mph in a balloon.
He married Joan Templeman in 1989 and has two children, Holly and Sam. He was knighted in 1999 for "services to entrepreneurship". He has been ranked in 2007's Time Magazine for the Top 100 Most Influential People in the World. He is definitely someone to envy due to his business expertise and millions of dollars.

50 Cent’s Home Theatre

Curtis Jackson was born in New York City in 1975. He is better known by his stage name “50 Cent” and is one of the best selling rappers in the world. Both his albums “Get Rich or Die Trying” and “The Massacre” are multi-platinum selling records and have brought him great success.
However, he hasn’t always lived the highlife. At the age of 12 he started drug dealing and in the year 2000 was shot nine times even though he had left the world of drug dealing to pursue a rap career. Famous rapper Eminem is responsible for a lot of his success, having spotted him in 2002 and signed him to Interscope Records. Since then he has had a lot of success and as usual with celebrities a lot of success means a lot of money.
He has a son who lives in Long Island and recently put his $18.5 million house up for sale in Connecticut in order to move nearer to his son who lives with his ex-girlfriend.  In October 2007, 50 Cent was honored with a key to the city in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
My favorite of his purchases is the home theatre he owned that was shown on MTV Cribs recently. It would be great to have your own home theatre and because of his success he has been able to have one. The dark interior and massive wide screen definitely creates the perfect cinema experience. He has been criticized in the past for being coarse and involved in dangerous circles, but putting that aside I would still love to have his lifestyle.

David Beckham’s Cars

David Beckham was born in Leytonstone, England in 1975. He made his first appearance as a football player in 1992 with Manchester United and signed his first professional contract shortly after.
He is well known across the world and has a huge fan base. He is an international super star and is reported to earn a ridiculous $200 per second.
Having money that we can only dream of has of course meant he can buy fantastic houses, cars and gadgets. My favourite of his purchases has to be his cars. They may not be to everyone’s taste but they definitely show off his earnings.
His car collection includes and Aston Martin DB7, a Bentley Continental GT, a BMW X5 and a Ferrari 550 Maranello and let me tell you these won’t be the basic models.
Earning money like he does will guarantee a top of the range option for each and every car. One of his most expensive cars is a Lamborghini Gallardo which he purchased for no less than $206,400 (£110,000).
The football star married Victoria Adams (previously “posh spice” from the Spice Girls) in Ireland in 2004. The couple has 3 children and the family has recently purchased an Italian villa worth an estimated $22 million in a private gated community in Beverley Hills, California. David Beckham is now signed with the LA Galaxy with a five year contract that was effective 1 July 2007 and is living in Beverley Hills permanently.
He is the number one footballer in many people’s eyes and has a lifestyle that most people would kill for.

Michael Jackson's Monkey

Michael Jackson is the King of Pop. Born in 1958, debuting at just aged 5 years old in The Jackson Five Michael Jackson has got to be the number one music artist of all time. He is known world wide and has so many hits that his greatest hits album holds no less than 13 number one singles.
His finances are a little confusing as he owns various music and real estate assets worth as much as $600 million but is still in financial trouble. He has several loans that are in total over $200. However, it’s not hard to understand why when he owns his own theme park and large estates and buys his way into the rights and ownerships of several music catalogs. One of my favorite purchases of his was when he bought Bubbles, a chimpanzee. The chimp was originally from a cancer research clinic in Texas but went to live with Michael in California in 1985.
In 1988 Michael hired Jeff Koons (a well known artist) to sculpt a gold statue of Michael and Bubbles. It is the most valuable sculpture created by any artist and is life size and gold plated. It sold at auction in 1991 for a staggering $5,600,000. Michael Jackson is well known for his charity work and started his work in 1981 by going on tour to raise a massive $100,000 for Atlanta’s Children Foundation. Since then Michael has been actively involved in raising money and support for 39 charities.
So not only does he go for expensive and outlandish purchases, he is very generous with his money helping organizations and charities worldwide.

What a way to spend your money

John Travolta was born in 1954 in the state of New Jersey. He is well known for his roles in films such as Saturday Night Fever, Pulp Fiction and of course Grease. He is a brilliant actor and has been nominated for several prestigious awards in the acting world. He made his millions by acting and dancing his way to the top. He has spent his money well for the most part, but has bought some extremely expensive items. My favourite of his items is his airport.
John Travolta is a trained pilot and owns five aeroplanes. He named one of his planes after his children Jett and Ella. His estate in Florida is worth $4.9 million and has a runway that leads right to his front door. He acts as a good will ambassador for Qantas airlines whenever he flies, due to the Qantas logo being on all his planes. He not only has planes but has his own airport, now that is what you call spending money.
John Travolta married in 1991 to Kelly Preston who is also an actress. He has two children, a son named Jetta and a daughter named Ella Bleu. He is known for being a family man and clearly cares for his family. He has been a follower of Scientology since 1975 and has created a lot of publicity for the religion along with Tom Cruise and other celebrities who are followers. John Travolta has had a lot of success and has definitely spent his money on some extreme things. His airport and aeroplanes are definitely my favourite amongst them.

Bill Gate’s Fortunes

Bill Gate’s
was born in Seattle in 1955 and recent estimates put his
net worth at over $56 billion dollars. He found his fortunes as a software
executive and is the Chairman of Microsoft. He is married to Melinda French and
has been since 1994. His large amount of money has meant he can afford to buy
some seriously high tech gadgets. I think out of all the expensive items he
owns his cars are the best.
His property is something to be proud of as well, it is in Washington,
rumored to be worth around $125 million dollars. It took seven years to build
and is a 40,000-square-foot mansion. He isn’t entirely selfish; He set up a
foundation in 2000 in order to donate regularly to charitable organizations and
scientific research programs. The foundation has donated grants for
scholarships, aids prevention and other diseases in third world countries. 
He is and has always been an extremely good business man.
Although he is admired by many people he has been criticized several times for
his business tactics being anti-competitive.
Bill Gates has been ranked as the richest man in the world
from 1995 to 2007. He has been known to say that he actually dislikes being the
richest man in the world due to the attention that comes with it. He is surely
one of the most envied people on the planet.
With all his millions of dollars and fantastically elaborate belongings
it’s hard not to be jealous.

Vanessa Paradis’s Man

What I would do to say that this was my man! Johnny Depp, born in Kentucky in 1963, has been a successful actor since his debut
in 1984. He is a sought after star and is very well known across the world. He
has been known to be a bit of a rebel having been arrested several times for
either wrecking a hotel room or fighting with paparazzi. Johnny has always been
a big fan of music and is a guitar player. He recently starred in Pirates of
the Caribbean: At Worlds End along side Keith Richards who played
his father. In the behind the scenes extra footage you could tell he was
thrilled to be working along side one of his heroes. Johnny Depp owns a 45 acre island in the Bahamas
and has achieved a high amount of success in his acting life. He has been
nominated for several Golden Globes and Academy Awards and regularly wins
awards that prove his greatness. He has recently been nominated for an Academy
Award for Best Actor for his latest film Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet
Street. Let’s hope he gets it!His lifestyle is one that people would kill for due to the
fabulous parties, amazing film sets and locations and of course the millions of
dollars.
He is surely one of the best looking and successful men in Hollywood
and I would certainly be proud if he was the man on my arm at an award show or
any red carpet event.

Flying high, with George Clooney

One thing I’ve always thought about is to have the ability to go where I want when I want. For example if I wanted to go to Rome or Paris for the weekend I would have to shove those thoughts to the back of my mind because it just isn’t going to happen in my life at the moment!
Whereas if you were rich or a celebrity you could just pop off to Paris for the weekend and not have to worry about if you could afford it or if you were going to have enough time. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I am aware that celebrities are very busy people and millionaires obviously work to make their money but the millionaires who have inherited money can just pop off at the drop of a hat or if they’ve already made their millions they probably don’t work anymore. Makes me wonder if they stop to think how lucky they are.
 I would love to be able to just take a break from the real world and fly to an island somewhere to relax and have a nice beach dinner or something. I saw a picture of a resort where George Clooney has a place and it made me so jealous! I’m not normally a jealous person but how I would love to have a little apartment in some hot country where I could go to at a moments notice.
I’m interested to know if it’s just me that’s jealous or if I’m on my own here!
